The new exhibition is called Emerging Narratives and starts on 29th May. Sue uses a sculptural approach to build her individual pieces ensuring that each piece, as it evolves, takes shape and carries a narrative without which, she considers it incomplete.
Sue’s ceramic sculptures are made from textured clays . As she creates each piece she initially finds the subject within the clay form and then as it progresses she creates the emotional dimension from the pose or the interaction between pieces. This approach to her build endeavours to evoke a developing narrative and provide a story behind its existence, each final piece being unique.
This collection embraces a range of story characters set in new contexts. Sue feels that we all deserve hew narratives in our lives to celebrate life, to uplift our spirit and see new directions in our existence.
